分班考試的重要性對於四大名校來說，一般是需要提前簽約進重點班，分內班考試進最好的理實班容機會較少，進次一級的重點班機會就比較大。長郡和附中都只有理科實驗班和平行班之分，兩校的理科實驗班想通過分班考試進就比較有難度。雅禮和一中的理科實驗班都有分層，想進最好的班機會小，但進次一級的班機會就大很多。

招生一般是在
1，江都邵伯進行一次考試，大約在揚州統招之前。
2，在儀征版也會有一次類似權的考試，時間同上。
（前兩個考試都是招收的外地的小孩，錄取比率大約是1比5，當然，揚州市區內的小孩也可以去考試的。）
3，就是揚州的統招了。

7月1日早晨9點，軍訓我就不知道了，好像是8月15日（友情提醒：梅中分班考試數學考試試卷超難的，所以據說三門平均80分以上就能進重點班了。我就是被錄取後考的，考下來慘不忍睹，兄弟注意啊！）
